What is the definition of 'bad'? Cartoon CP is questionable in terms of morality, but it's technically not against the law, unless it is based on a real person. However, it doesn't mean that it is accepted by the majority consensus. For example, remember when Doopie drew Hatsune Miku? People didn't like it, but she could get away with it, since Hatsune isn't a real person. This is why things like Boku no Pico exist.

In regards to whether drawn CP makes people more likely to reenact their desires on real children, just remember that even if it gets banned, people will find a way to obtain it regardless.

After reading many pages of these back and forth arguments on this subject I've come to this conclusion:

Fapping to 2D lolis is an extremely unnerving and disgusting thought, but at the same time banning a subjective art style outright won't solve anything. One side argues that it's a gateway to deviant consumption of actual CP that harms real children and it should be outlawed, and the other argues that an outright ban will lead to a prohibition-style backlash that will end up causing more CP to be produced. To me this looks like a lose-lose situation, and no matter which side I choose I'm going to get an earful. But alas, receiving an earful is the nature of hot topic discussion, and being completely neutral will make everyone livid so I'll go with this:
If you can't differentiate a drawing from a real child, I suggest you seek psychiatric help.

I don't think actual CP should even factor into the discussion. CP is it's own unrelated subject that has nothing to do with lolicon. It's like discussing furries and bestiality.

A furry is more likely to be interested in having sex with animals but furries generally limit their degeneracy strictly to fantasy. It's possible that furry is a gateway but what kind of precedence does banning "gateways" set up?

Going back to this thread after the recent debate that happened at Pk's thread, I, honestly, do not like slippery slopes. This is my main reason for being an autistic dumbass that keeps repeating that reality and fiction are different.

I don't like the concept of banning a person from drawing/writting something, even if I don't like that something, even if that something is morally wrong and I find it absolutely disgusting, because I fear the same ban will eventually reach the territory of good fiction that is using the same theme in a non pornographic setting.

I have seen an example of this before.
A short novel/fanfiction thing got taken down from the internet and the author went through absolute hell, even getting death threats, because the novel dealt with the grooming and abuse of a teenager (and had a rape scene), as well as the devastating effects it had on said teenager afterwards, all narrated from both the victim's and the victims close friend's point of view. Later I learned the author actually wrote this story after a best friend confided to them that she got sexually abused and the author had gone into a crisis, feeling completely unable to do anything to console her, so they did the only thing they could do; try to tell her tale.

This was some years ago, and I saw the whole debacle happening on Tumblr. The story itself got taken down from everywhere by the author themselves, though if you search "Sympathy Crime" you might find it archived.

Seeing this thing happening is why I don't like the idea of censoring fiction. The Tumblrinas that harassed and doxed the person who wrote this did it because to them the fanfiction thing was a pornographic piece. They thought they were in the right because all fiction depicting child abuse is vile, so obviously this one story must be too.

Who decides what should be censored and what shouldn't? Any sick fuck could read the same story that I myself found so heartwrenching, and beat the meat to it. Does that mean it's porn even if it wasn't the author's intent? Where do you draw the line?

Speaking realistically, a crime by its nature requires a victim.

Sexualizing a child, raping a child, forcing children to pose for naked pictures. These all have a clear victim, the child.

If you want to be a sick fuck and draw a five year old boy with their tiny donger hanging out. A fictional character isn't a person, and thus not a victim. You're a creepy piece of shit, but you're not hurting anyone.

It's a shame that the myanimelist site is down cause it was full of weirdo lolicons that would pretty much admit to liking children, including but not limited to: family members, children of friends, random ass kids they see on the street. They would defend this shit to high heaven .
